If you're used to Liquid IV, this is NOT THAT

I was shocked at the taste. Didn't even swallow my first sip. It was definitely yucky. I usually drink a lot of Liquid IV and Nuum, and it was so nasty compared to those. I also really don't like how it's got "VOMITING AND DIARRHEA" listed huge on the box and each packet as well. I don't want to think about that when I'm drinking something and I'm not sick. It put me off enough that I don't even keep them out on the counter.

Keep in mind that NormaLyte is a medical food, an oral rehydration salt. It's not meant to be a fun fruity drink; it's meant to quickly and medically rehydrate you in the most optimal and efficient way so you can find your normal again. Brands like the ones mentioned are not oral rehydration salts and ultimately not as effective.

It's perfect for people with dysautonomia, POTS, MCAS, Crohn's, and other chronic illnesses and was even clinically proven to help manage symptoms of POTS. But, it's also perfect for those who are just not feeling well due to acute illnesses like covid, flu, stomach, and cold viruses because we use the World Health Organization's perfect new formula. Vomiting and diarrhea is a part of life, unfortunately, and we want people to know there are solutions for dehydration caused by gastric upset. What matters most is that it works!

Fantastic Product

I have been using it since 2013 consistently 4 days a week. It's so helpful with my POTTS during my exercise program. I recently gave some to a friend when she was sick. This is a much better product then Gatorade!

Yay! Thats amazing! Normalyte is a medical grade electrolyte using the World Health Organizations perfect formula for oral rehydration! Things like Gatorade are not science backed in the same way which may be why it wasn't helping you. Thank you for sharing!

Great for POTS!

I have pots and I drink one of these every morning. Great for getting my hydration and electrolytes up. Personally I really like the taste too. I took off one star because the packets are difficult to open. They have a tab to pull to open but it is so hard to pull off, I usually have to use my teeth. Once open, it’s the smallest hole and takes forever to pour into my cup. I usually just use scissors to open it, which is inconvenient when i’m on the go.

The Best


This is easily the best oral rehydration packet I've tried for my POTS/nOH, especially when the GI symptoms are flaring. It's an absolute necessity for me to keep this around, otherwise I'd be getting IV hydration much more often. Like many dysautonomia patients, I have a handful of other issues that make my digestive system extra picky, and this ingredient list works well for me, I keep coming back to it. Sometimes I might have 1-2 packets per day, other times less frequently, but I never want to run out. I actually kind of like the taste, and find it soothing.
